Mallika Some added Face Yoga after watching students meet their fitness goals while their faces still looked tired or dull. She now includes 15–20 minutes of facial muscle work, relaxation and lymphatic massage in regular classes, because the face is seen before the body — and it deserves the same care.

In the early years, students came mainly for fitness and weight loss. The kilos moved — sometimes six in a month, sometimes one or two. When a fitness target was nearly met, Mallika noticed something else: the body looked better, but the face carried a tiredness, or the glow was simply missing.
That day she understood that body work and face work are equally important. Weight lifting and yoga were fixing the body; the face was being left out. She learned Face Yoga and brought it into the room.
The face is seen before the body. Their body weight will decrease anyway — but the importance of doing Face Yoga is something I learned by watching my students.
The 15–20 minutes people used to skip
She does not make Face Yoga endless. Fifteen to twenty minutes are strictly included in class. At first, many students invented an errand and left — or, online, said they had work and logged off. She did not give up. She taught the two or four people who stayed. Later, when others returned and saw glowing skin, less under-eye puffiness after massage, and fewer held forehead lines, they slowly joined the Face Yoga block. That social proof, not a marketing caption, is how the practice stuck.
- Muscle toning for cheeks and lip corners that have gone slack.
- Lymphatic massage where fluid sits in the face.
- Relaxation after each hold, so the face is not only clenched.
Questions students actually ask
How long is Face Yoga in a Body Care class?
Usually 15 to 20 minutes, built into the session — not an optional extra hour at the end of an already long day.
Did students accept it immediately?
No. Many left early or logged off online. Mallika kept teaching whoever stayed. When classmates noticed more glow and less puffiness, more people began to stay for the full block.
